Broadway Break Thru® was created and is managed by Disney, Nickelodeon & Broadway Casting Director and former Broadway perform, David Petro.
Since its inception in 2009, Broadway Break Thru® (BBT) has brought an elite performing arts education to over 3,000 students in seven different cities and featured of over 400 celebrities, casting directors, talent agents, college faculty and high level entertainment industry professionals. BBT has held national partners with over twenty fine artistic and educational institution, such as Roosevelt University, The Rose Theatre, the Winnetka Children’s Theatre, George School, the Ellington Academy of Arts & Technology, the J. Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts and the Chicago Children’s Theatre and BC Discoveries Dance & Theatre Arts.
BBT was created to provide national and local opportunities to all aspiring performers. Our performing arts summer intensives, pre-college programs and weekend workshops give students a chance to meet and learn from celebrities, university faculty members and entertainment industry professionals, offering them unprecedented access and opportunities.
Our students study every aspect of musical theatre, film, dance, voice, acting and script writing. We provide exceptional educational training and multiple performance opportunities within our programs but also through their local community. Our programs are designed for students from ages eight to twenty two, with student divided and working within their own individual age groups.
Through direct participation in BBT, over 25 students have been cast in feature films, television series and pilots and Broadway, National Tour and regional theatre productions. Over 40 students have been accepted into their choice universities and colleges though the direct relationships formed in their BBT experience.
BBT has been featured on Fox17 News, WGN’s Windy City Live, Style Boston, Eye Opener Philly, NBC’s Wood TV and Grand Rapids’ eightWest.
